14 Years of Sneakers, Education, Clean Water, Healthy Meals, Medical and Dental Supports!

Today, Seaside Rotary celebrated 14 years of serving the children and families of Playa del Carmen! 

Over those 14 years, the little Rotary Club that could, did!  And did was a lot - 

  • Six ongoing projects
    • Feeding hungry schoolchildren so they can focus on learning (Feeding the Future)
    • Covering the bare feet of village children with sneakers to protect them from parasites and bites (Kicks4Kids)
    • Supplying life saving medical equipment to the General Hospital so that newborns have a chance to grow up and thrive (Tiny Hearts)
    • Partnering with Project C.U.R.E. and US Rotary Clubs to bring six ocean cargo containers of donated medical equipment and supplies to the General Hospitals in Chiapas, Cancun and Playa del Carmen (International Projects)
    • Installation of solar powered clean water systems and a biodigester for the schools/villages of Cristo Rey, Nuevo Nu Bec and Torres de la Paz (Clean Water)
    • Adopting Classrooms to give teachers and students needed equipment and supplies, school supply backpacks and scholarships to keep kids in school (Scholarships)
  • Covid Relief help  - food, cleaning supplies
  • Flood relief help for our nearby neighbors
  • Helping medical and dental teams provide local support (Medical, Dental, Vision Services)

We could not have accomplished these projects without the dedication and help of the Playa del Carmen community, other Rotary clubs in Playa del Carmen and surrounding areas, Project C.U.R.E. and the US Rotary clubs.  Thank you!
