History of Clean Water and Sanitation Projects
Seaside Rotary is proud of its history of Clean Water and Sanitation projects for the past 14 years. We are constantly looking for projects and find there are many more than we can keep up with.
2026:
Torres de la Paz. We hired Copper Control, a new water company, to upgrade the water situation at a jungle school. It allows water bottle refills, cooking water, and for families to fill garafons (20 liters jugs) for family usage, etc.
2025:
Santa Clara. Santa Clara is a Mayan community west of Paamul about 30 Kilometers through the jungle. They needed clean water to attract a doctor to their village along with a toilet. Seaside provided the funds and the men of Paamul along with the community did all the digging and building (not so fun through limestone). It included drinking water and a biodigester.
2024:
Cristo Rey Primaria Escuela. We had previously installed a clean water project at this jungle school, but the system needed a lot of work to be effective and the available technology had improved since it first installed. We hired Copper Control to install a new water system to provide for all water at the school. It’s also available for families.
Cristo Rey Secundaria Escuela: Seaside provided the funds to hook up the school to electricity
2018:
Ki’in Beh Escuela. This jungle school is a private school in Cristo Rey that also needed clean water for students.
2017:
Torres de la Paz Escuela. We installed the solar system that runs the water and provides the electricity at the school.
2015:
Cristo Rey Primaria Escuela: We were part of an International Project where we partnered with some Toronto area Rotary Clubs and Roger Mann to do an International Project for clean water and solar power at a new jungle school. Seaside helped furnish the new school with their Adopt a Classroom Project for 7 classrooms. It was Seaside’s job to keep the solar system and the water system running. This is a photo of the group of Rotarians that visited the school that day.
