On Thursday June 8, the Rotary Club of Playa del Carmen Seaside sent 88 children to a bi-annual dental clinic offered by Global Dental Relief. The children came from Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras. Seaside Rotary provided the funds needed to hire 5 transport buses to deliver the children safely to and from the clinic which is set up in Akumal.

Not only did our club support this fantastic effort financially, one of our very own Seaside Rotarians, Julia Buttermore, volunteered as a dentist! Special thanks to Julia for giving her time and her expertise and to Margaret Smyth who made sure that all the children were transported safely and everything went according to plan. They are truly our #peopleofaction and exemplify #serviceaboveself.

Global Dental Relief comes to the Riviera Maya twice annually to provide dental consultations, cleaning, procedures and education for children with neither access to nor funds to pay for regular dental care.
