Meet Our President

bob bosse

Robert Bosse

I retired and moved from South Dakota to Riviera Maya in the summer of 2021. I live near Akumal with Sherrie, my wife of 35 years and my pug Dexter. Before retirement, I worked in the broadcasting industry in various positions for over 30 years, the last 23 as the Director of Television at South Dakota Public Broadcasting.

In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball, spending time in nature and exploring everything that the area has to offer. I joined Rotary Playa del Carmen Seaside in 2022 and have volunteered for several club projects, including building classroom furniture for Cristo Rey school, purchasing and distributing shoes for the Kicks4Kids program, marshaling at the LIV golf tournament, and more. I also produce social media recruitment videos and other media projects for the club.

I feel very fortunate to be able to enjoy the incredible life of an expat. Rotary Playa del Carmen Seaside has given me so many opportunities to give back to the communities in the area and gives me a great
sense of accomplishment.

Vicki Moro

Vicky Moro

Vicky, as her friends call her, has been interested in social work since she was young. Even in high school, she was awarded the Civil Merit Award for altruism. Later, during her professional training in medicine, she became involved in several social projects. She moved to Playa del Carmen in 2016 to work as a pediatrician and pediatric oncologist, initially in Cancún, Quintana Roo, where she discovered Rotary. She began her journey with the Rotary Club of Cancún International but later relocated to Playa del Carmen due to work.

In Playa del Carmen, she continued her Rotary path with the Rotary Club Playa del Carmen Empresarial, starting in 2019. She held various roles, including positions in the Rotary Foundation, membership, treasury, and finally, she served as President in 2022-2023 under the leadership of the first female worldwide president. Simultaneously, she was a district instructor for District 4195, supporting the team led by Past District Governor Francisco Plaza.

Currently, married with one child, Vicky balances her role as a professional and a mother, actively participating in community service activities. She now instills values and sets an example for her young son while continuing her Rotary work with the Seaside Rotary Club, as well as engaging in various volunteer efforts.

Her hobbies include learning languages (she speaks five), traveling, sports, and spending time with her family. Vicky firmly believes that we are here to leave our mark and contribute to humanity, and is convinced that working as a team leads to greater change.
